Adult Educators’ Guide for Digital Inclusion of Adults with Fewer Opportunities
The Adult Educators’ Guide for Digital Inclusion of Adults with Fewer Opportunities is a comprehensive intellectual output developed within the project “Piloting Artificial Intelligence for integration and prosperity through social media marketing education – AI SMM”. Responding to the rapid digital transformation in Europe and the educational challenges faced by adults with fewer opportunities, the guide equips adult educators with the knowledge, methodologies and tools they need to integrate Artificial Intelligence into adult learning environments in an ethical, practical and impactful way.
Grounded in the project’s needs analysis and based on the priorities defined in the Erasmus+ application—digital transformation, social inclusion, and strengthening the competences of adult educators—the guide provides a structured, accessible, and practitioner-oriented resource. It is designed for educators, staff of adult education centres, NGOs, and professionals working with refugees, migrants, minorities, and adults at risk of marginalisation.
The guide is organised into four main chapters:
-
AI in Adult Education – An overview of the current state of AI integration, its benefits, challenges and opportunities for personalised learning, administrative support, and learner engagement.
-
Extraction of Entry Data from Applications and Social Media – Practical explanations and examples of how adult educators can ethically use AI-supported data extraction tools to understand learner needs, personalise curricula, and enhance inclusion.
-
Design and Implementation of Individual Learning Curricula – A step-by-step framework for applying data-driven insights to create tailored learning pathways, support learner progression and integrate socio-emotional and behavioural indicators.
-
AI-Powered Tools for Feedback and Evaluation – A curated and tested list of digital and AI tools for assessment, feedback, classroom support and automated evaluation, each accompanied by usability notes and practical recommendations.
The guide also includes a special annex on how educators can build their own AI-assistant (bot) and a set of recommendations for developing high-quality digital educational resources, contributing to long-term digital readiness in adult education.
This result contributes directly to the project’s objectives by:
• Increasing the digital competences of adult educators across Europe.
• Providing an open, high-quality resource that supports inclusive learning for adults with fewer opportunities.
• Enhancing the capacity of adult education centres to integrate AI into teaching, curriculum design and learner support.
• Strengthening cross-sector cooperation between public institutions, NGOs, and digital-innovation companies.
The guide has been developed collaboratively by all project partners and is available in all partner languages (Danish, Italian, Spanish, Greek, Macedonian, Dutch) as well as in English. It is freely accessible as an Open Educational Resource (OER), ensuring wide transferability and long-term usability across Europe.
"AI SMM" E-Learning Platform (Available in Seven Languages)
The AI SMM E-Learning Platform is one of the core intellectual outputs of the Erasmus+ project Piloting Artificial Intelligence for Integration and Prosperity through Social Media Marketing Education (AI SMM). Designed as a high-quality, fully accessible Open Educational Resource (OER), the platform offers an innovative digital learning environment aimed at supporting adults with fewer opportunities—including migrants, refugees, jobseekers, and socially excluded groups—in developing essential digital and social media marketing skills strengthened by Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The platform responds directly to Europe’s ongoing digital transformation and the growing demand for digital competences. It provides learners and educators with a modern, engaging, and intuitive online space where learning can take place independently, flexibly, and at the learner’s own pace. To ensure inclusiveness and broad usability, the platform is available in seven languages: English, Danish, Italian, Spanish, Greek, Macedonian, and Dutch. This multilingual approach reduces language barriers, supports learners with limited language proficiency, and increases the platform’s transferability across diverse European contexts.
The platform is structured around a series of interactive learning modules that introduce users to the fundamentals of AI-supported social media marketing. These include:
• Introduction to AI and its role in digital communication – explaining how AI influences marketing strategies, data analysis, and digital behaviour.
• Content creation, campaign design, and analytics – demonstrating how learners can use AI tools to produce engaging content, understand audience preferences, and optimise social media performance.
• Digital entrepreneurship and employability skills – providing practical guidance for learners seeking job opportunities, freelance work, or self-employment in the digital sector.
• Ethical use of AI and digital tools – highlighting transparency, responsible data use, and the importance of digital safety and critical thinking.
The platform incorporates AI-driven features that enhance personalisation and learner engagement. These include adaptive recommendations, simplified navigation, and practical examples that mirror real-life digital marketing scenarios. Lessons are delivered through short videos, interactive quizzes, illustrations, and hands-on exercises that help learners directly apply newly acquired skills. This approach supports adult learners who may have limited digital experience or difficulties concentrating during long or text-heavy courses.
The platform was developed collaboratively by partners with expertise in adult education, ICT, and AI innovation. Technical partners ensured high usability and compatibility across devices, while educational partners contributed to pedagogical structure, accessibility, and the integration of non-formal learning principles. The platform’s design reflects feedback from pilot testing sessions conducted in partner countries, where adult learners and educators evaluated clarity, ease of use, cultural sensitivity, and practical relevance. Their insights helped refine the interface, improve navigation, and enhance learning pathways.
The platform contributes directly to the project’s objectives by:
• Supporting digital inclusion and reducing barriers faced by adults with fewer opportunities.
• Improving employability by offering up-to-date digital and entrepreneurial skills aligned with labour-market needs.
• Strengthening the digital competences of adult educators, who can use the platform as a teaching tool, a blended-learning resource, or a basis for designing personalised learning pathways.
• Promoting long-term sustainability, as the platform remains freely available after the project’s completion and can be integrated into existing educational programmes.
The platform’s impact was further strengthened through wide dissemination: social media campaigns, newsletters, multiplier events, and presentations—including international visibility at the World Conference on e-Education, e-Business and e-Commerce (WC-EEE-25) in Reykjavik—highlighted its innovative contribution to digital inclusion and AI-enhanced learning.
In summary, the AI SMM E-Learning Platform represents a high-quality, multilingual, and future-oriented digital learning tool. By combining AI, social media marketing, and non-formal learning methodologies, it provides adults with fewer opportunities—and the educators who support them—with meaningful, accessible, and empowering pathways into the digital world.
